In my CMNS 280: Intro to Digital Media Skills course at DePaul University, we were instructed to create a reel based on the information we had been taught about algorithm and capturing audience in a short-form media app such as TikTok or Instagram. Because I visit a lot of events in the Chicago music scene, I created a TikTok appreciating moments from the summertime in Chicago. While using trending audio and a call-to-action using on-screen text, I am able to gain an audience interested in visiting Chicago, especially as summer is approaching.
